Profile

After Naoya Edahiro studied industrial design, furniture, architecture, and contemporary art, he joined an architectural hardware manufacturer in Japan.  He worked as a mechanical engineer and industrial designer, and developed handrails, mailboxes, etc.  While he was working in the company, he gained hands on engineering knowledge and skills for mass production. After 5 years, he moved to the US for a new adventure in his career.

In 2005, he joined an award winning design studio, fuseproject in San Francisco. In fuseproject, he participated in every aspect of the design process on various design projects from small consumer electronics to office furniture systems. With his engineering experience and skill sets from Japan, he challenged himself to push designs into production with the team and engineers. Some recognizable projects are: Herman Miller (Sayl Chiars, Public Office Landscape), Jawbone, DirecTV, OLPC, Samsung, Danese, etc.

In 2016, Naoya left fuseproject after 10 years of work with Yves Behar, and started his own design consulting based in San Francisco.  He now works with worldwide clients for consumer electronics and furniture projects.
